Cousins Proposes Public Rooftop Park Atop Capital City Plaza Garage

Cousins Properties has proposed that an expansion of the parking garage at Buckhead’s Capital City Plaza skyscraper will include plans for a rooftop park open to the public. The changes brought to an October 7 Development Review Committee of Special Public Interest in District 12 include adding 341 parking spaces, expanding the footprint about 120 feet, and Cousins will refrain from using 400+ spaces in the 3354 Peachtree lot as a result of the expansion.

Though privately built, the plans include winding paths, a bistro, seating, and greenspace that would be open to the public with connections to HUB404 greenspace topping GA400 as well as another proposed 40-story mixed use tower

The garage’s central location adjacent to HUB404, a plethora of offices, restaurants like South City Kitchen, and the Buckhead MARTA station make this proposal especially appealing to those who work and live nearby. In an area that desperately needs public green space, this plan would transform a run-of-the-mill parking garage into a destination that serves all who frequent the area.
