Blue Heron Nature Preserve

At A Glance

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve features 30 acres of pristine parklands, wetlands, and trails that border the shores of Nancy Creek. Located conveniently off of Roswell Road, the Preserve is a City of Atlanta park and is free and open to the public. In addition to the natural beauty of the site, a community garden, turtle sanctuary, and outdoor art exhibits can be found on the grounds. The 3-mile Blueway Trail links the sections of the Preserve: the Woodland Loop, Emma Wetlands, and Land O Lakes.

Also housed in the main building of the Blue Heron Nature Preserve are the headquarters of the Atlanta Audubon Society and the Amphibian Foundation. Read more about the conservation that takes place there at the link.
