Over the past few years, PATH400 has grown from a neat idea into a valuable asset to Buckhead residents and visitors. The latest section celebrated its grand opening on September 29th with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a great party on the path.
Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead, said in a statement after the event, “When that ribbon finally dropped and the crowd poured onto the new stretch of PATH400, it felt like more than just an event — it felt like a neighborhood dream come true. Kids zoomed on bikes, neighbors stopped mid-bridge just to soak in the treetop view, and yes… the llamas absolutely stole the show.”
She continues, “This connection from Wieuca to Loridans means PATH400 now flows for almost three continuous miles through Buckhead. This isn’t just a path or a bridge or an amazing engineering feat; it’s a connection that makes it easier to walk to school, get outside for a little fresh air in the middle of Buckhead, or enjoy those serendipitous “hey neighbor” (or “hey neighbor’s dog!) moments.”
The new section stretches north from Wieuca Road to Loridans Drive. You can walk PATH400 all the way up from Miami Circle, or park at Mountain Way Common to check out the dramatic new bridge.
