Buckhead’s latest Southern Fare and Bar-B-Que Restaurant has something for everyone. From hardcore carnivores to selective vegetarians, the whole family will love the 521 Kitchen & Que experience. The freshness of their ingredients can’t be mistaken, as they work with local farmers on achieving quality components. Chef Drew Kirkland invited us into the kitchen to see their mini freezer, which is only used in emergencies. Every dish is made in-house, even the sauce! Their hormone and preservative-free meat is smoked daily, and a beautiful musket scent will permeate the trip from your car to their front door.
Quick to point out that 521 Kitchen & Que is far from a typical BBQ restaurant, owners Roma and Drew Kirkland developed an eclectic concept centered around quality. Drew’s passion for cooking impeccable meat combined with Roma’s desire to cater to healthy vegetarian appetites makes the menu both versatile and mouth-watering.

Chef & Co-Owner Drew Kirkland’s background is in fine dining, which shows in his presentation and meticulous commitment to quality. As former head chef for Rathbun’s and Rathbun’s Steak, and PGA National Resort (to name a few), Drew has catered to upwards of 10,000. Roma’s background is “completely opposite,” she says, “strategy consultant in a highly corporate environment.” But an entrepreneurial family inspires her to give her fun, innovative (and tasty) ideas new life.
