Craving the fun and recreation of golf in the middle of your work week? Tired of lugging around clubs on a hot course? Wish you could squeeze in a little bit of practice, a good meal, a relaxing steam, and even space to co-work for a while? Local tech entrepreneurs David Cummings (founder of Atlanta Tech Village) and Michael Williamson have joined up to launch the Intown Golf Club which is set to transform a nearly 12,000 square foot space at Two Buckhead Plaza over the next several months.

The mission of the Intown Golf Club is to provide a more accessible private club experience in the heart of Buckhead Village without the hassles of traditional golf courses. The time it takes to play a course and the logistics of being out on the course for several hours require what founder Michael Williamson considers “considerable effort,” and he aims to circumvent these limitations in his new club. Beyond the convenience factor, the club also solves the problem of inclement weather. Members will be able to golf day or night year-round regardless of rain, snow, and excessive heat.

More Than A Game

Featuring best-in-class TrackMan simulators, players will be able to virtually experience more than 40 of the world’s best courses including St Andrews, Muirfield Village, and Sea Island. Considered to be the best in the world, TrackMan simulators cost over $50,000 each and there is even one in the White House! The simulator provides live shot analysis of club speed, ball speed, smash factor, spin rate, carry, and more. Side by side video comparisons line up your shot against swings by the best players in the world, and the digital optimizer will help you determine which swing gets the best results. Consult with a PGA instructor on staff, take a complimentary group lesson, and get fitted for your perfect clubs here as well.

Beyond the golf-specific benefits, members will also enjoy hand-crafted food and drinks at the on site restaurant overseen by investor Federico Castellucci III, president and CEO the Castellucci Hospitality Group known for the popular Buckhead Iberian Pig, events and community programming, fitness center, a full service locker room and steam room, and even conference and co-working space. Additional amenities include club rental, bag storage, valet and bag drop, an outdoor terrace, and a putting green.

The Intown Golf Club website lists the Buckhead location as its flagship property and indicates future locations may follow in Midtown, Nashville, Austin, Charlotte, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia.
