Our community has been through a lot in the past couple of months, and after spending all of April sequestered in our homes many of us are feeling antsy to get back outside and take up some exercise again in this beautiful spring weather. Livable Buckhead has a plan to help encourage Buckhead residents to get active while social distancing as part of their month-long buckheadWALKS! competition from May 1st through the 31st.

Participants can track their steps to compete for bragging rights and various prizes either alone or as part of a team. Livable Buckhead has come up with some clever new ways of providing these challenges in a completely virtual environment, kicking off with a scavenger hunt. Participants will receive riddles in their email and they can submit photo responses to earn challenge points and restaurant gift cards.

Every day of the week comes with new challenges. Earn points by simply watching a video on Mindful Mondays, on Tuesdays walk or run at least two miles continuously and tracking through your preferred app, on Wednesdays participate in a virtual walking tour via Zoom hosted by Atlanta Track Club, Thursdays offer a 5pm Zoom happy hour toast and trivia contest, and Friday lunchtime walks hosted by community partners will virtually lead through different parts of Buckhead.
Prizes include gift cards to Simon, Fifth Group, local restaurants, Peachtree Road Race bibs, Lululemon gift cards, and even a two night stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, among others. To learn more and to register, go online to Livable Buckhead’s website.
