Salesforce, a San Francisco based customer relationship management (CRM) company with over $8 billion in revenue last year, has announced that they will expand their office at Buckhead’s Plaza Atlanta in 2019. The building was originally built more than 30 years ago in 1986 and will be rebranded as Salesforce Tower Atlanta. Salesforce will be adding 600 new jobs and moving into several freshly renovated floors with plans to expand over the next five years, at a projected investment of $12.25 million.  

Salesforce is a globally recognized company providing support to businesses in the form of customer information management, sales, customer service, marketing, commerce, custom apps, and analytics, all regulated through a streamlined cloud-based platform.

In a press release Salesforce cites Atlanta’s ever-growing tech scene, world-class universities, easy MARTA access, and southern hospitality as the impetus for this new Buckhead office. “Atlanta is a fantastic market for world-class talent and we’re thrilled to grow our presence in the region,” said Salesforce EVP of Commercial Sales Warren Wick. “Many of our top customers call the city home and we’re excited to support these trailblazers in connecting with their customers in whole new ways.”

The company shared renderings of their new office space complete with rooftop and exterior signage, dedicated immersive lobby space, coffee barista bars, parent’s rooms for nursing parents, and an Ohana floor.

You might be wondering, what’s an Ohana floor?

It all began when Salesforce’s CEO Marc Benioff traveled to Hawaii in the late ‘90s and learned of the concept of Ohana, which proposes that families bound together by blood, adopted, or chosen are obligated to care for one another. Upon his return stateside, he embraced and implemented this concept within the company, encouraging the employees to foster relationships with one another, their clients, partners, and the community. In the new Salesforce Tower Atlanta, as with their other named towers, this concept will be implemented in the form of an open hospitality space on the top floor.

The Ohana floor will feature 360 degree views of the city and provide space for employee events during the workweek, on weeknights, and weekends. When available, the floor will be open to non-profits and organizations that align with Salesforce’s “giving back” values. Salesforce announced its lofty goals for the new Atlanta location’s volunteerism within the community, hoping to achieve over 25,000 hours to local nonprofits such as Big Brother Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, Open Hand Atlanta, Camp Sunshine, and Junior Achievement of Georgia.
