The month of October is set to be a lot more fun thanks to Livable Buckhead’s Biketober event. Partnering with Georgia Commute Options and Love to Ride, the community organization is hosting screenings penned as “bike-in movies” starting with the classic Halloween film Hocus Pocus at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 4 at Marie Sims Park. Sponsored by AMLI Buckhead and AMLI 3464, the event is sure to be a blast for bike riders of all ages. Food trucks from the Atlanta Street Food Coalition will have snacks for sale while you watch. On Friday, October 19, they will screen E.T. in Old Ivy Park, complete with free popcorn!

Livable Buckhead hopes that biker riders of all experience levels will be inspired by these events to break out their bicycles and consider riding as an alternative to commuting via car. The month-long social team Atlanta Bike Challenge will award awesome prizes for riders who register online, ride for ten minutes or more, and recruit friends and colleagues. Winners can get $1000 toward a new bike, a $100 gift card to Atlanta Cycling, 10 annual memberships to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, $30 gift cards to Wrecking Bar Brewpub, $30 gift cards to Atlanta Pro Bikes, a new helmet from Torch (comes with a built-in LED light!), tickets to Dad’s Garage, and a gift card to the Georgia Beer Garden. Riders who log their rides through March 31, 2019 can also win a dream holiday prize, either a ride through the Grand Canyon or a trip to New Zealand.
