Pho Dai Viet

We recently profiled Pho Dai Viet, a new Vietnamese restaurant that opened in the Chastain Square shopping complex off Roswell Road. In speaking with owner and head chef Kyle Luong about his family’s Vietnamese restaurant legacy here in Atlanta, we learned all about his process to ensure a modern menu with high quality ingredients and dishes all while not compromising traditional flavors and techniques. Check out their bowls of pho, banh mi sandwiches, vermicelli dishes, rice-based dishes, and Vietnamese eggrolls. Read our full article here for more information and photographs.

Zunzi’s

Inspired by South African cuisine, this takeout, delivery, and catering restaurant has recently opened a second outpost in Buckhead. The Savannah-based company came under fire after opening the new Collier Hills location when neighbors began sharing concerns about the name of their signature “Sh*t Yeah Sauce.” Despite the initial uproar, reception to the restaurant has been overall good, with customers enjoying customizable pitas and quick eats in the form of sandwiches, wraps, and salads.

Woody’s CheeseSteaks

Buckhead is set to welcome Woody’s CheeseSteaks as they expand to their new home at 45 Irby Avenue later this year. For more than 40 years, Woody’s CheeseSteak has been serving cheesesteaks from a small storefront nestled on a parcel of land where Virginia Avenue splits and meets Monroe in Midtown. The pit stop offers counter service and a few tables with a menu that offers classic Americana favorites such as a variety of cheesesteaks, cold subs, sausages, hot dogs, milkshakes, and ice cream. Their new space that used to house Sabot Shoes will have more space and room for additions to their classic menu. The company has yet to announce an official open date, but our fingers are crossed for a fall opening.
