Tyler Perry’s Buckhead home at 4110 Paces Ferry Road in the Paces Neighborhood  sold for a record $17.5 million 2 months ago. The buyer remained anonymous and all parties involved were bound to silence through non-disclosure agreements.

Rumors have been swirling (mostly incorrect) about who our new neighbor is. Buckhead.com recently got a tip about the buyers identity and after a one-on-one interview, we can now reveal the (unexpected) buyer who purchased Tyler Perry’s home!

Video Of Tyler Perry’s Buckhead Home:

David Turner, former businessman and now evangelist, is pitching his tent in the multimillion dollar home. The 17-acre property was listed at $25 million, but Turner purchased it for $17.5 million. Even with the lower price, the mansion broke records by becoming the most expensive residential sale in Atlanta history. In an interview with Buckhead.com, Turner told us he has already moved in (he purchased it fully-furnished). It will be the full time residence for himself, his wife, and his two children.

Turner built his life and success from the ground up. His father left when he was a baby and he grew up with an abusive stepfather. Coming from a poor family, Turner was determined to rise out of his circumstances. He graduated from high school early, obtained a Business Management degree after two years and dove into entrepreneurship at 19 years old. For the next two decades, Turner built a thriving business as a producer of branded and private-label nuts and dried fruit including roasted and salted nuts, trail mixes, and chocolate and yogurt-covered nuts.

Turner built and grew two multi-million dollar companies, SunTree Snack Foods (invested in by Satori Capital last year) and Southwest Commodities which combined have over $100 million in sales. He later sold the companies, and while he checks in from time to time, Turner’s current priority is his full-time ministry. Turner confronts the possible perceptions of an extremely wealthy evangelist head on: according to him, donations only cover 2% of his ministry expenses.

Why did David Turner buy the most expensive home in Atlanta? “God literally told me to come here,” Turner said in a phone interview with Buckhead.com’s Ben Hirsh. “I went online and I saw this house, and that’s when I felt like God told me, ‘This is your house.’”

After consistently missing one another due to previous engagements, Perry and Turner finally met face to face. They negotiated the $17,500,000 sale and made a deal on the spot.

Tyler Perry’s Buckhead home at 4110 Paces Ferry Road in the Paces Neighborhood has sold for a record $17.5 million! This is the highest price ever paid for a home in Buckhead but is still 30% less than his $25 million asking price.

The home was on the market for 320 days before selling. The previous record was $10.5 million that Jeffrey Sprecher paid for his home in Tuxedo Park in 2009. The buyer has chosen to remain anonymous for now.

President Obama, Oprah and countless other celebrities and dignitaries have visited Perry’s impressive 17-acre compound that lacks for nothing…except architectural restraint. The French provincial home has tennis courts, huge pool, river views, impeccable privacy, a parking deck, and every design feature you would ever need.

Not only is Perry a film tycoon, he is strategic in real estate investments, gradually acquiring land in Douglas County near Sweetwater Creek state park and I-20. He’s acquired over 1,000 acres of land a few miles west of Six Flags Over Georgia. Maybe a new film studio is in the works??
