A study by Georgia Tech researchers of the city of Atlanta’s tree canopy has confirmed what we all knew to be true. Atlanta has the densest tree canopy of any major city in the country, and Buckhead’s tree canopy is off the charts!

Whenever I am showing a high-rise condo in Buckhead, I am continually surprised to look out over our Buckhead neighborhoods and see nothing but a vast green canopy. It’s amazing that 80,000 people can hide inside what looks like a virgin forest from 40 stories up.

This Georgia Tech Study mapped Atlanta's Tree Canopy and Buckhead came in first place (Top portion of this map).

Atlanta overall is 52.45% covered by canopy (San Diego came in at 13%). Buckhead sets the standard with approximately 66% of our land area covered by our beloved oaks, dogwoods, and beech trees (among others). The West side of Buckhead (neighborhoods such as Paces, Whitewater Creek, etc) boasted 73.98% coverage!

Buckhead’s trees provide us refreshing shade, clean the air, and now….give us bragging rights!
