In an effort to learn more about the ongoing construction of the PATH Foundation’s PATH400 Project, I nearly stepped over caution tape. I’m not alone in my enthusiasm; nearly every Atlanta local has either walked, biked or ran down PATH400’s older cousin, the Atlanta Beltline. Check the Beltline out on a Saturday afternoon, and the bustling pathway is the perfect indication Atlanta folks are eager and willing to take advantage of such resources.
To the delight of many Atlanta locals, the Atlanta Beltline has highlighted the need for more green space and urban walk-ability in areas like Buckhead. It looks as though PATH400 has volunteered to play copycat. When complete, this 5.2 mile, multi-use trail will run alongside and underneath Ga. 400, from the tolls to the I85 split. The completion date is scheduled for the beginning of 2015, with a budget hovering around $12 million.
Path 400 is just another way Buckhead and the entire city of Atlanta are preparing to revolutionize urban walk-ability and transportation. Happy trails everyone!
