The Cyclorama is one of the largest paintings in the world and depicts the Battle Of Atlanta. Since 1893 it has been a tourist attraction in Grant Park.

Thanks to a generous Atlanta couple (not yet named) the Cyclorama is moving to Buckhead. The paintings new home will be at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead on West Paces Ferry Road. Based on the conceptual rendering, it would appear that it will be facing the new park area on the corner of Slaton Drive and West Paces Ferry.

I am excited about the Cyclorama moving to Buckhead , and I will be going to see it. I have vague memories of seeing it when I was about 7 years old, and have never had a strong desire to return. Being housed at a serious historical institution (and in our neighborhood) is definitely more of a draw than it’s current home, which feels like a somewhat tacky tourist trap.
